This nostalgic collection is full of memories – it may include cups from your own childhood. Tove Jansson’s beloved Moomin characters have been a part of Finnish life since the late 1950s. Today there are Moomin fans, children and adults alike, around the world.
Just a short distance away is the Jari-Matti Latvala’s Rally Museum. Jari-Matti Latvala is a former Finnish rally driver and is currently the team principal of Toyota Gazoo Racing WRT. The world’s largest coin collection is on display at Wanhanajan Kahvila. This gorgeous coffee cup collection by a private collector is on display by the red entrance on the Market Street. Most of them are Arabia’s older production, but the collection also includes some newer models and beautiful cups from around the world.
Tuuri is a village in Alavus Municipality in Western Finland, a part of the Southern Ostrobothnia Region. The village is home to a population of around 780 inhabitants and the second-largest department store in Finland – the Veljekset Keskinen. As a symbol for Tuuri, meaning “luck” in Finnish, a large horse shore stands next to the large shopping center. Similar to the case in the Swedish locality of Ullared, one store plays a central role in the life of a whole village. Featuring a sauna, Villa Valentina Ähtäri is situated in Ähtäri.

Tuuri is a village in Töysä, since 2013 part of Alavus, a town of Finland. It is located in the province of Western Finland and is part of the Southern Ostrobothnia region. In 1946, Toivo established his first fixed shop in the cupboard of his small, red house.
Kyläkaupan Kesäkahvila -restaurant serves Onnela guests during the summer season. Its selection includes cafeteria products, meals, and ice cream. This was when Toivo Keskinen opened his store in the village. To where it has grown to become the second-largest department store in Finland. Veljekset Keskinen was established in 1976 and is currently run by the fifth generation of the Keskinen family. This is by far the largest collection of Finnish money from 1860 to 2002 on display. The exhibition also displays money from the eras of Swedish and Russian rule in Finland. Third service building with toilets, showers and sauna is situated at the beach.

There is also a popular display of a large collection of various old-time commodities from the store. The collection created by collector Kauko Välimäki and nowadays owned by the town of Alavus is now on public display in a single location. Prior to this, the collection was divided into four different places in Alavus. During summer season there are pedal cars are available to rent in Onnela for €5 per 2 hours. Kyläkauppa offers versatile and functional facilities for organizing various meetings, conferences, seminars, and private events.

A Short History of Tuuri

In the winter season, registration is at the Hotel OnnenTähti reception. The service building doors can be opened with the key card that you will receive when paying for a caravan pitch. For faster check-in, you can print out and fill the passenger card beforehand. This creation, produced by Topi Haapanen from Porvoo, required over a hundred Tuuri hours of work and a huge number of Lego bricks. The Lego Group provided the bricks for this miniature model. The Moomin collection in the Department Store’s household product department includes all the Moomin mugs and bowls manufactured so far.
